Creates special veterans' license plates for each branch of the armed forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine) featuring a "VETERAN" inscription and branch-specific emblem

Available to veterans who own passenger automobiles, recreational vehicles, one-ton pickup trucks, or motorcycles, upon payment of standard special plate fees and registration taxes

Applicants must provide certified discharge papers indicating character of discharge; the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs may certify applicants who served with allied nations if records are unavailable

Plates may be transferred to another qualifying vehicle owned by the same person for a $5 fee, and damaged plates must be replaced free of charge

Production costs may be funded through transfers from the "Support Our Troops" account, effective January 1, 2026
