Allows the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs to close a veterans home upon receiving an involuntary termination notice from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Creates an exception to existing law that prohibits closing veterans homes without specific legislative authorization enacted after July 1, 2015

Requires all residents be transferred, relocated, or discharged in a safe and orderly manner to appropriate settings before any closure can occur, following requirements in section 144A.161, subdivision 6

Mandates the commissioner notify the governor and chairs/ranking minority members of legislative veterans affairs committees before closing a home under this provision
