Repeals Minnesota Statutes section 462.357, subdivision 5, which established an alternative approval process for rezoning property from residential to commercial or industrial in first class cities

The repealed law required written consent from owners of two-thirds of properties within 100 feet before a zoning change could be approved by majority vote of the governing body

Alternatively, the repealed law allowed cities to bypass the neighbor consent requirement with a two-thirds vote of the governing body after the planning commission surveyed at least 40 acres and held public hearings with three weeks of newspaper notice

Applies to first class cities that do not have a different process established in their home rule charter

Effective the day following final enactment
