Declares any lease provision waiving class action rights contrary to public policy and void, whether oral or written

Prohibits parties from waiving or modifying these protections through any agreement

Establishes civil remedies for violations: tenants may recover treble (3x) actual and consequential damages or $1,000, whichever is greater, plus reasonable attorney fees

Creates new section 504B.213 in Minnesota Statutes governing landlord-tenant relations
