Domestic abuse victims granted an order for protection may petition a court to transfer billing authority and all rights to their wireless phone number from a shared plan, or to be released and assigned a new substitute number.

Wireless providers must comply with court orders without charge, penalty, or fee to the victim.

Court orders must be issued separately from the order for protection and directed specifically to the wireless provider, listing the account holder's billing number, the transfer recipient's name, and each number to be transferred.

Protected parties may designate another person to serve as the new account holder on their behalf with their approval.

Wireless providers and their employees are granted immunity from lawsuits for actions taken in compliance with court orders issued under this section.
