Expands eligibility for continued employer-paid health insurance coverage to include paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who are disabled in the line of duty, in addition to peace officers and firefighters already covered under existing law.

Creates a new statutory term "covered individual" that encompasses peace officers, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs eligible for duty disability benefits.

Requires employers to continue paying their contribution for health coverage for disabled covered individuals and their dependents, with coverage lasting until age 65 for total and permanent disabilities, or 60 months for other duty disabilities.

Applies retroactively to injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2020.

Takes effect the day following final enactment.
