Amends Minnesota Statutes section 241.021, subdivision 4f, governing medication administration in correctional facilities licensed by the commissioner

Removes the requirement that facility health care professionals consult with the original prescribing provider before determining a medication is not medically appropriate for an incarcerated person

Eliminates the provision allowing facilities to substitute medications deemed "at least as effective" with approval from the original prescriber

Allows incarcerated persons to decline medications by informing the facility health care professional or their designee, rather than requiring written notice

Requires documentation in medical records when an incarcerated person decides to stop taking medication
