Expands eligibility for continued employer-paid health insurance to peace officers and firefighters who do not qualify for duty disability benefits due to specific eligibility requirements under section 353.656, subdivision 1, paragraph (b), clause (2)

Requires employers to continue paying health insurance contributions until the disabled peace officer or firefighter reaches age 65 (or would have reached 65 if deceased) for those approved before May 24, 2025, those receiving total and permanent disability benefits, or those with non-psychological duty disabilities

Limits coverage to 60 months for peace officers and firefighters approved on or after May 24, 2025 whose duty disability is based solely on a psychological condition and who are not receiving total and permanent disability benefits

Prohibits employers from paying or offering any consideration to peace officers or firefighters in exchange for waiving health coverage, with such agreements declared void

Effective retroactively from May 24, 2025
