Licensed child care centers with posted maltreatment investigation memoranda must install video security cameras in public and shared areas beginning July 1, 2026, with compliance required within six months of posting and maintained for four years

Beginning July 1, 2027, licensed child care centers receiving child care assistance program funds, great start compensation support payments, or early learning scholarships must have video security cameras in public and shared areas

The legislation amends Minnesota Statutes 2025 Supplement, section 142B.68, subdivision 2, governing video security camera requirements for child care facilities

The act is designated as "Harvey's Law"
