Local governments may prohibit cannabis businesses within 1,000 feet of schools or 500 feet of day cares, residential treatment facilities, or public park areas regularly used by minors (playgrounds, athletic fields)

Removes the provision allowing local governments to adopt interim ordinances temporarily prohibiting cannabis businesses until January 1, 2025, while conducting studies on regulations

State cannabis office must deny licenses to applicants whose proposed locations fail to comply with local zoning ordinances, State Fire Code, or State Building Code (strengthened from permissive "may" to mandatory "must")

Counties may develop countywide retail registration processes with consent from cities or towns, allowing them to limit registrations in each delegating jurisdiction while meeting the minimum of one registration per 12,500 residents

Local governments conducting compliance checks must annually report detailed data to the state office, including business information, check results, violation descriptions, and any enforcement actions taken
