Counties, municipalities, and school districts would be prohibited from accepting contributions in any form from for-profit businesses or nonprofit organizations to pay for expenses related to conducting federal, state, or local elections

The prohibition overrides any conflicting home rule charter or local ordinance

Entities providing free or discounted space for use as polling places are exempt from the prohibition

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 204B.32, by adding a new subdivision

Effective the day following final enactment
