Prohibits employers, individuals, and associations from economic reprisals, threats of job loss, or physical coercion against individuals due to their political contributions, political activity, or becoming a candidate for elected public office

Creates a new civil cause of action allowing injured parties to sue in district court for damages, injunctive relief, costs, reasonable attorney fees, reinstatement of employment, and other equitable relief

Classifies violations as a gross misdemeanor

Exempts employment situations where political affiliation or viewpoint is a bona fide occupational qualification

Effective August 1, 2025, applying to violations and causes of action occurring on or after that date
