Creates special license plates for individuals who are both fire department members and certified EMTs, advanced EMTs, or paramedics in Minnesota

Applicants must provide a letter from the Office of Emergency Medical Services confirming good standing and a letter from their fire chief, plus pay standard special plate fees

Plates may be used on passenger automobiles, one-ton pickup trucks, or motorcycles, and can be transferred to another qualifying vehicle for a $5 fee

Plate holders must remove the special plates when they are no longer a fire department member or certified EMT/paramedic, or when vehicle ownership is transferred

Effective January 1, 2026, with fees credited to the driver and vehicle services operating account
