Commissioner of management and budget must conduct a study examining the economic impact of tariffs on Minnesota households and businesses.

Study must examine tariffs imposed by the United States government and retaliatory tariffs imposed by other countries.

Study must analyze the impact of economic uncertainty caused by frequent tariff changes and quantify impacts for households by income level and businesses by sector and size, including agriculture, manufacturing, and small businesses.

Commissioner must submit a report with a plan to reduce tariff impacts on Minnesota households and businesses by February 1, 2026, to legislative committees with jurisdiction over state government finance.

Commissioner must bear all costs within amounts appropriated under Laws 2025, chapter 39, article 1, section 13.
