Reduces the abandonment period for payroll checks from five years to one year, effective January 1, 2011.

Maintains existing abandonment periods of seven years for travelers checks, money orders, business dissolution, banking organizations, and court-related bond proceeds.

Allows public inspection of abandoned property records showing only the name, last known address, and amount for abandoned moneys under fifty dollars or listed solely in the name of a government entity or political subdivision.

Prohibits disclosure of Social Security numbers and other identifying information from holder reports, with violation classified as a misdemeanor.

Exempts property held under pre-August 28, 1998 resolutions or trust indentures by political subdivisions from the standard abandonment period requirements.
