State board of education must establish a coordinated health program board by January 1, 2011, and make a coordinated health program available to all school districts by January 1, 2012.

Coordinated health program must address prevention of obesity, cardiovascular disease, and type II diabetes in elementary and secondary students through coordination of health education, physical education and physical activity, nutrition services, and parental involvement.

State board of education shall adopt rules requiring physical education courses for all pupils in public schools and state-supported educational institutions.

School districts may participate in state board-approved training and voluntarily implement the coordinated health program in their schools.

State board of education may work with the department of health and senior services to provide necessary training to school districts for program implementation.
