HB 1965 Summary

• Repeals over 300 expired, sunset, terminated, ineffective, or obsolete statutes from Missouri Revised Statutes to clean up the legislative code.

• Modifies publication requirements for state laws and the Missouri Manual to allow electronic/web-based formats in addition to or instead of printed versions.

• Establishes the "Joint Committee on Missouri's Promise" composed of 5 senators and 5 house members to examine future issues and develop long-term strategies for economic prosperity, health, education, and quality of life.

• Creates the "Joint Subcommittee on Recovery Accountability and Transparency" with 8 members to oversee federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds and prevent fraud and waste.

• Updates census data references in economic development and enterprise zone provisions to use American Community Survey data instead of decennial census, effective April 1, 2011.
