• Establishes penalties as class D felony for most violations, class B misdemeanor for certain discharge violations, and class B felony for firing from a motor vehicle (class A felony if resulting in injury or death).

• Provides exemptions for law enforcement officers, military personnel, judges, probation/parole officers, and qualified retired peace officers who carry proper identification and meet training requirements.

• Allows concealed carry permit holders to transport concealable firearms in motor vehicles and permits firearms for school-sponsored events and student military/ROTC courses.
