Recognizes international education as essential to Missouri's future and economic development, with international students contributing over $270 million to the state economy in 2008-2009.

Supports and encourages students and faculty at Missouri colleges and universities to promote international education through curricular and extra-curricular programs, including foreign language instruction and study abroad opportunities.

Affirms that international education develops cross-cultural competence and prepares graduates for the global workforce and national security interests.

Acknowledges the Study Missouri Consortium, established collaboratively by Missouri public and independent higher education institutions and the Department of Higher Education, to foster international experiences and exchanges.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute inscribed copies of this resolution to each institution of higher education in Missouri.
