Designates the week of May 9-15, 2010, as "Sickle Cell Awareness Week" in Missouri.

Encourages all Missouri citizens to participate in activities during this week to address sickle cell trait and disease prevalence.

Highlights that approximately 1,500 individuals in Missouri have sickle cell disease and 50,000 have sickle cell trait, affecting primarily African Americans at rates of 1 in 400 and 1 in 12 respectively.

Notes that sickle cell disease results in shortened life expectancy (average 42 years for men, 48 years for women) and urges increased public awareness of available screening programs and treatments.
