Establishes a Joint Interim Committee on Reducing the Size of State Government composed of 10 members: 3 majority and 2 minority party members from the Senate, and 3 majority and 2 minority party members from the House, appointed by the President Pro Tem and Speaker respectively.

Committee charged with examining each state department and agency to identify programs and bureaucracies for elimination or reduction and developing recommendations for reducing government size, identifying inefficient spending, and addressing budget shortfalls.

Committee must report recommendations to the House Budget Committee and Senate Appropriations Committee by December 31, 2010.

Committee authorized to solicit input and information from state departments, agencies, political subdivisions, and the general public during the legislative interim through December 31, 2010.

Legislative staff from Senate Appropriations, Senate Research, House Appropriations, House Research, and Joint Committee on Legislative Research shall provide support services, with expenses paid from the Joint Contingent Fund.
