Grandfathers existing window coverings in place on the effective date but requires them to comply with specific safety standards including banning roman shades, roll-up shades, and woven shades with loops greater than 7.25 inches.

Mandates that horizontal blinds and cellular shades with draw cords must have cords cut to 7-10 inches, include cord cleats and stops, and have separate tassels or break-away devices complying with ANSI/WCMA 100.1-2009 standards.

Requires vertical blinds to use wands as operating mechanisms with no beaded chains or corded pulleys, and all excess horizontal blind slats must be removed to fit within window openings.

Allows directors of health/senior services and social services to require replacement of non-compliant window coverings at licensed facilities.
