SB 645 Summary

• Repeals 15 existing sections and re-enacts 7 of them, eliminating several legislative committees and advisory commissions including the Workers Memorial Committee, Joint Committee on Urban Voluntary School Transfer Programs, Joint Committee on Wetlands, and Multistate Tax Compact Advisory Committee.

• Reduces the Missouri Access to Higher Education Trust board from 10 to 8 members by removing the requirement for legislative appointees from the House speaker and Senate president pro tem.

• Sets expiration dates of December 31, 2013 for the Video Instructional Development and Educational Opportunity Program advisory committee (reduced from 29 to 25 members) and the Coordinating Council on Special Transportation.

• Reduces the Fire Education Trust Fund board from 7 to 3 members by eliminating legislative appointments, keeping only the state treasurer and two governor-appointed members.

• Repeals language creating joint committees to review urban voluntary school transfer programs and hazardous waste facility fee restructuring.
