Public school districts, charter schools, parochial schools, and private schools must report to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at the beginning and end of each school year: total number of students enrolled, age of each student at time of reporting, and number of students in each grade level.

Schools cannot provide individual student names or any other identifying information in their reports.

Year-round school calendar schools must provide the required information twice annually at the direction of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education may specify the format for submitting the required information.

Parents, guardians, or persons responsible for homeschooled children must notify the chief school officer of the child's school district of residence that the child is enrolled in a home school, without providing the child's name or identifying information.
