State registrar may issue Heritage Birth Certificates or Heritage Marriage Certificates upon request, in addition to standard vital records, celebrating the unique heritage of Missouri citizens.

Heritage certificates must include the date of registration and shall be marked as "delayed" or "amended" if applicable, with secure anti-tampering measures consistent with the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004.

Heritage certificates are suitable for display and may bear the state seal and governor's signature, and are accepted as original records in the same manner as certified birth or marriage certificates.

Heritage certificates may only be issued to individuals born or married in Missouri.

Department of Health and Senior Services may charge a fee not to exceed fifty dollars per certificate, with all fees deposited to the general revenue fund.
