Combat action badge recipients may apply for special personalized license plates for vehicles they own solely or jointly, excluding apportioned vehicles and commercial vehicles exceeding 18,000 pounds gross weight.

Applicants must submit proof of combat action badge recipient status to the Missouri Director of Revenue on a form provided by the director.

License plates shall display "COMBAT ACTION" instead of "SHOW-ME STATE" with fully reflective white background, blue and red configuration, night visibility, and an image of the combat action badge.

An additional fee equal to the personalized license plate fee under section 301.144 is charged for each set of combat action badge plates, with no limit on the number of sets a qualified person may obtain.

Plates are non-transferable except that a registered co-owner may operate the vehicle with the plates for the remainder of the licensing year following the qualified person's death.
