Sheriff must conduct criminal background checks within three working days of receiving a completed application, with FBI checks forwarded if no disqualifying records are found at the state level.

Concealed carry endorsements are valid for three years and must be added to an applicant's Missouri driver's license or nondriver's license by the director of revenue.

Sheriff may charge a nonrefundable processing fee not exceeding $100 for initial applications and $50 for renewals, paid to the county sheriff's revolving fund.
