Adds advanced practice registered nurses under chapter 335 to the definition of "approved health care provider" who can prescribe physical therapy treatment

Physical therapists must still obtain a prescription from an approved health care provider to initiate treatment for new injuries or illnesses

Physical therapists can evaluate, screen, and treat without a prescription for recurring self-limited injuries (within one year of diagnosis) or chronic illnesses previously diagnosed by an approved health care provider

Establishes contact and notification requirements for physical therapists treating recurring or chronic conditions, including contacting the patient's provider within seven days and referring patients whose condition does not progress after six visits or fourteen days

Updates disciplinary provisions for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to reference advanced practice registered nurses as eligible prescribing providers
