Establishes a Joint Interim Committee on Reducing the Size of State Government composed of 14 members: 4 majority and 3 minority senators, 4 majority and 3 minority representatives, plus the Commissioner of Administration and State Budget Director as ex officio members

Committee shall examine state departments and agencies to identify programs or bureaucracies for elimination or reduction and develop recommendations for reducing government size, identifying inefficient spending, and addressing budget shortfalls

Committee must report its recommendations to the House Budget Committee and Senate Appropriations Committee by December 31, 2010

Committee is authorized to function during the legislative interim between the Second Regular Session of the 95th General Assembly through December 31, 2010, and may solicit input from state departments, agencies, political subdivisions, and the general public

Committee expenses and staff support shall be paid by the Joint Contingent Fund, with legal and research services provided by Senate Appropriations, Senate Research, House Appropriations, House Research, and the Joint Committee on Legislative Research
