Every noninvasive vascular laboratory licensed in Missouri must be certified by either the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) or the American College of Radiology (ACR)

All laboratories must complete the accreditation process by July 1, 2012, including the organization standard plus any applicable service-specific standards or ACR ultrasound program requirements

Laboratories must submit documentation to the Department of Health and Senior Services by October 1, 2012 confirming their accreditation with ICAVL or ACR

Any laboratory that fails to obtain or loses accreditation is prohibited from charging, billing, or receiving compensation for services provided after such failure or loss

The Department of Health and Senior Services may promulgate rules to implement the accreditation requirements and prescribe required document forms and content
