HB 18 Summary

• Appropriates funds from the Federal Stimulus Fund and other designated funds for Missouri state government departments and agencies for the fiscal period July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013.

• Allocates $83.87 million for Department of Elementary and Secondary Education programs including Title I education for disadvantaged students and school improvement initiatives.

• Provides $83 million for Department of Transportation highway and bridge infrastructure projects and $3.85 million for transit programs including regional facilities in Macon and Poplar Bluff.

• Directs $101.79 million to Department of Natural Resources for energy, renewable energy, and energy efficiency promotion, plus $29.05 million combined for water and wastewater infrastructure and drinking water system grants.

• Allocates funds across multiple departments including Social Services ($888,524 to $8.77 million per program), Health and Senior Services, Economic Development, Public Safety, and other agencies for various recovery and assistance programs authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
