Road district commissioners may now receive compensation of up to $100 per month as fixed by a majority of commissioners, with compensation remaining fixed during their term of office.

Road district commissioners continue to receive reimbursement for all expenses incurred in conducting district business, including reasonable attorney's fees, in addition to any monthly compensation.

Political subdivisions procuring risk coverages through joint business entities for liability and other insurance are exempt from competitive bidding requirements.

Joint insurance entities formed by three or more political subdivisions may include public and quasi-public governmental bodies, and coverage is not deemed an insurance business under state law.

Associations formed for joint insurance may hold closed meetings and restrict access to records pertaining to actuarial analysis, claims data, loss history, and information used to determine member rates and contributions.
