HB 7 Summary

• Appropriates $264.8 million to the Department of Economic Development for fiscal year July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012, funding administrative services, business and community services, workforce development, tourism, housing, and arts programs.

• Appropriates $40.1 million to the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration for insurance operations, credit unions, finance division, professional licensing boards, and consumer protection programs.

• Appropriates $112.3 million to the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations for unemployment compensation, workers' compensation administration, employment security, labor standards enforcement, and human rights programs.

• Prohibits use of appropriated funds for travel or staffing costs associated with the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, or Attorney General.

• Authorizes fund transfers among various state accounts to support administrative costs and program operations across the three departments.
