Missouri state employees rank 50th among all states in annual compensation with an average salary of $38,184, which is 26% below the national average of $51,507.

Establishes a Joint Interim Committee on State Employee Wages composed of 10 members including House and Senate legislators, a Governor's Office representative, a State Personnel Advisory Board representative, and two public members.

Committee shall compare Missouri state employee wages to other states, develop strategies to improve wage rankings, and report recommendations to the House Budget Committee and Senate Appropriations Committee by December 31, 2011.

Committee is authorized to solicit input from state departments, agencies, and the public, and shall receive support from Senate and House research and appropriations staff.

Actual and necessary expenses of the committee shall be paid from the Joint Contingent Fund.
