Combat action badge recipients may apply for special personalized license plates for vehicles they own solely or jointly, excluding apportioned vehicles and commercial vehicles exceeding 18,000 pounds gross weight.

Applicants must submit proof of combat action badge award to the Director of Revenue on a required form to receive the plates.

License plates shall display "COMBAT ACTION" instead of "SHOW-ME STATE," feature a combat action badge image, have fully reflective material with a white background and blue and red configuration, and be visible at night and aesthetically attractive.

An additional fee equal to the personalized license plate fee under section 301.144 shall be charged for each set of combat action badge plates.

No limit exists on the number of plates a qualified person may obtain for their owned vehicles; plates are non-transferable except registered co-owners may operate the vehicle with such plates for the remainder of the licensed year upon the qualified person's death.
