SB 75 Summary

• Prohibits solicitation of expenditures and fund-raising activities supporting or opposing candidates, ballot measures, or political parties on state or political subdivision property or buildings.

• Bars statewide elected officials and general assembly members from performing services for political campaigns other than their own and from accepting compensation as paid political consultants for other officials, candidates, or political committees.

• Establishes criminal penalties including bribery (class D felony) for offering or accepting items of value in direct exchange for voting on legislation or regulations.

• Imposes contribution limits per election: $2,000 for statewide offices, $1,000 for state senators, and $500 for state representatives, with limits for other offices based on electoral district population.

• Prohibits general assembly members from serving as or registering as a legislative lobbyist while in office or within two years after leaving office.
