Telecommunications carriers and commercial mobile service providers must provide call location information to law enforcement upon request during emergencies involving danger of death or serious physical injury.

Law enforcement can request caller location information (including "ping locate") to respond to emergency service calls or situations requiring immediate disclosure without delay.

Telecommunications carriers and service providers, along with their officers, employees, and agents, are granted immunity from civil liability for providing location information and assistance to law enforcement under this section.

Carriers and providers retain the right to establish voluntary protocols for disclosing call location information independent of legal requirements.
