Packaged kosher or kosher for Passover food must have a label or symbol affixed by the manufacturer, packer, or certifier identifying who certified the product.

Unpackaged kosher food or packaged food without proper certification must display a sign at the point of sale showing each item's description, certifying agency, equipment certification, certification period (not exceeding 12 months), and dairy designation if applicable.

Businesses selling both kosher and nonkosher meat or poultry must display signage clearly identifying which products are kosher certified, unless items are separately prepackaged with kosher certification labels.

Violation of labeling, signage, or identification requirements is a class B misdemeanor.

Presence of uncertified meat, poultry, or prepared food at an establishment claiming to sell only kosher food is prima facie evidence of intent to defraud; good faith reliance on supplier representations provides a defense.
