Property owners' associations cannot enforce or adopt restrictive covenants prohibiting political candidate or ballot item signs on a property owner's property beginning 90 days before an election through 10 days after the election.

Associations may still enforce covenants requiring signs to be ground-mounted or limiting property owners to one sign per candidate or ballot item.

Associations may prohibit signs that contain building materials, balloons, lights, or are attached to plants, vehicles, or other structures, or that include painted architectural surfaces.

Associations may prohibit signs larger than 4 feet by 6 feet, signs that violate laws, signs with offensive content, or signs accompanied by music, sounds, streamers, or other distracting elements.

Property owners' associations retain the right to remove signs that violate the permitted restrictive covenants.
