If a contraceptive is not in stock, pharmacies must obtain it through their standard ordering procedures, or transfer the prescription to a local pharmacy of the patient's choice if requested.

Pharmacists may still screen for drug therapy problems including drug interactions, contraindications, dosage issues, and clinical misuse without violating this requirement.

Pharmacies must treat customers seeking contraceptives in a non-judgmental manner without subjecting them to indignity, humiliation, breaches of confidentiality, or pressure regarding prescription fulfillment.

Persons of legal age purchasing emergency contraception over the counter must be served promptly and consistently with normal in-store nonprescription purchase timeframes; violations subject pharmacies to disciplinary action.
