Repeals and reenacts section 375.993 regarding fraudulent insurance acts and investigative confidentiality.

Protects insurers, their employees, agents, and other persons from civil liability of any kind (including libel and slander) for filing required fraud reports or furnishing information to the Department of Insurance.

Extends civil liability protection to communications about suspected or anticipated fraudulent insurance acts shared with law enforcement, other insurers, governmental agencies, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the National Insurance Crime Bureau, or recognized fraud prevention databases.

Exception to liability protection applies only when a person knowingly and intentionally communicates false information.

Preserves all existing common law and statutory privileges and immunities previously held by any person.
