Applies to school districts containing a home rule city with population between 155,000 and 200,000 in a first-class county that adjoins no other first-class county.

Board members elected and in office on August 28, 2012, retain their positions for their full elected term; appointees filling vacancies serve the remainder of the replaced member's term.

Beginning with the April 2013 municipal election, candidates for school board must declare candidacy for a specific designated seat when more than one seat is open.

Election authority must designate open seats by letter to identify which seat each candidate is running for; nomination by petition also requires designation of the specific seat.

Directors are limited to serving no more than four three-year terms after August 28, 2012.
