Repeals and re-enacts section 57.280, RSMo, governing sheriff charges in civil cases.

Sheriffs receive $20 per item for service of summons, writs, or court orders in civil cases, and $10 per subpoena, plus mileage at the Internal Revenue Service rate.

Modifies the sheriff's discretionary fund to allow use of collected charges (up to $50,000 annually) not only for equipment and services but also to supplement the sheriff's base salary.

Sheriffs receive an additional $10 per service that must be paid to the state treasurer for the deputy sheriff salary supplementation fund.

No charges are collected when court costs are waived or paid by the state, county, or municipality.
