Urges the United States Congress to address the pervasiveness of sickle cell trait and disease and increase public awareness of available programs and screenings.

Notes that more than 72,000 people in the United States have sickle cell disease, affecting primarily persons of African heritage, with no universal cure currently available.

Estimates that Missouri has approximately 1,500 individuals with sickle cell conditions and 50,000 individuals with sickle cell trait based on population statistics.

States that less than 25% of approximately 700 children, adolescents, and young adults with sickle cell disease in the St. Louis Metropolitan area will graduate from high school or pursue higher education.

Directs the Missouri House Chief Clerk to send inscribed copies of the resolution to each member of Missouri's Congressional delegation.
