Requires all health carriers and health benefit plans in Missouri to provide coverage for diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders effective January 1, 2013

Prohibits insurers from denying coverage for eating disorder treatment, including residential treatment, if medically necessary per American Psychiatric Association guidelines

Prohibits insurers from denying enrollment or renewal coverage to individuals solely to avoid these requirements, or from penalizing providers for furnishing covered eating disorder care

Coverage must include psychiatric and medical treatment such as nutrition counseling, physical therapy, dietician services, and medical/psychiatric monitoring without greater deductibles or co-payments than other health services

Exempts supplemental insurance policies, life care contracts, accident-only policies, Medicare supplement policies, and short-term major medical policies of six months or less from these requirements
