Coordinating board for higher education must adopt a policy by January 1, 2013 requiring all higher education institutions to award educational credits to veteran students for military training or service that meets American Council on Education standards

Beginning with the 2013-2014 academic year, the department of higher education and all governing bodies of postsecondary institutions must establish rules and procedures to implement veteran educational credit policies

Health-related professional licensing boards must maintain active duty military members in good standing without requiring renewal fees, dues, or continuing education credits when military circumstances prevent obtaining such training or when the licensed occupation is performed as part of military duties

Professional licensing boards must accept military education, training, or service completed by armed forces members, reserves, national guard, military reserves, or naval militia members toward licensure or certification qualifications by January 1, 2013

Division of professional registration within the department of insurance, financial institutions and professional registration must promulgate rules to implement these provisions by August 28, 2012
