Prohibits employers from requesting or requiring employees or prospective employees to provide passwords or account information to access their social networking website accounts or profiles.

Allows employers to maintain workplace policies governing use of employer-provided electronic equipment, including internet and social media use policies.

Permits employers to monitor usage of employer-provided electronic equipment and email without gaining access to employees' personal social networking accounts.

Allows employers to obtain publicly available information about employees or prospective employees and information obtained in compliance with the law.

Defines "social networking website" as internet-based services allowing users to create profiles, connect with other users, and view connections within the system, excluding email.
