Beginning with school year 2016-17, public school students must complete a semester-long transitional skills course after taking the personal finance course to graduate from high school.

Transitional skills course must include performance goals from Show-Me Standards focusing on preparation for independent adult life in the workplace, higher education (associate's or bachelor's level), technical education, entry-level employment, and military service.

Any rules created under this section must comply with chapter 536 and are subject to the General Assembly's authority to review, delay the effective date, or disapprove and annul rules.
