HB 332 Summary

• Repeals and reenacts section 610.021 of Missouri law regarding closed meetings and records for public governmental bodies

• Removes sunset dates (December 31, 2012) from two exceptions: operational guidelines for responding to terrorist incidents and security system plans for public and private infrastructure

• Requires public agencies to affirmatively state in writing that disclosure would impair safety or health protection and that nondisclosure serves the public interest before closing records under these exceptions

• Makes the changes effective immediately upon passage and approval as an emergency measure to protect sensitive public records related to terrorism prevention and security
