State Board of Education must create rules limiting student participation in and practice for extracurricular activities during the school day and week, preserving instructional time for academic activities.

Students are subject to school district policy and Missouri State High School Activities Association rules only when under direct supervision of school employees or at times specified by the school board.

Students receiving a failing grade in any class during a grading period must be suspended from extracurricular activities for one grading period.

Suspended students may have their suspension removed during the school year if they achieve passing grades in all classes at the end of a subsequent grading period; suspensions automatically end at the end of the school year.

For students with disabilities, suspension is based on failure to meet requirements in their individualized education program, as determined by the admission, review, and dismissal committee.
